A First For Us

We recently receieved a 'Vox Box' by Influenster and inside were some wonderful treats to try out and test, all complimentary!  Here is what we got:

Quaker Brand Soft Oatmeal Cookies:

I am the type of person who would rather bake something myself because I am so picky about taste and texture. Let me just say that Quaker NAILED this cookie! It's awesome! Somehow it stayed soft and moist, and tasted like it was baked that morning. Thanks for a quick, easy and healthy snack Quaker!

ImPress Press On Manicure:

I am really not into nail polish or nails myself, but my 12 year old daughter was ECSTATIC about these press on nails!  She was able to put them on instantly and with ease and they looked great on her!  They are still on her, through showering and even helping with the dishes!

Stash Tea Superfruits:

I was sooo thrilled to receive this box of tea to sample.  Not only do I already love Stash teas, but my favorite tea is blueberry, and summertime is the perfect time to try out fruity iced teas!  I made a larger than average batch, added some of the honey sweetener (also an amazing sample) and poured it over ice.  It has a heavenly and relaxing aroma and the fruit tastes were perfect, not too heavy and sweet, but also not too light (think of those barely there fruity tastes that leave you wanting more).  All in all, I would give this tea a 10 out of 10.

Ivory Soap:

This one is a classic.  It washes away clean and leaves a light aroma that just makes you feel clean.  The only thing I didn't like is that it also dries out my skin a bit.  I'm glad I got to try it, because it had been many years since I had used it and it's great for washing hands, but as a whole body soap, I'd have to stick to my yummy shower gel.

Dino Lingo:

The complimentary Vox Box also included a DVD sample of a new language learning program for kids called Dino Lingo.  There were several languages to choose from.  I want to start out by saying that it has very good intentions behind it, and my kids did watch for a bit and soak up some new words.  They use the same method that Rosetta Stone does, which is proven to work, and rather than associating words with the English word, you learn the word from a picture or action.  The problem with the DVD was that the cartoon animation was very poorly done, and the sound was HORRIBLE.  There was static!  If the cosmetic thigns were taken care of, I could see actually buying this for my kids, but as it is right now, I don't think it would be worth it.

All in all, it was a very wonderful Vox Box!  I was so happy to be chosen to recieve these products complimentary and review them and let my voice be heard!  Thanks Influenster!

Fun With Photography

Since getting my camera (thanks again Crystal!) I have had so much fun playing with it and learning about it and how to take some pretty neat pictures.  Now I'm nowhere even close to being a professional photographer, but I got some pretty cool flower shots that I'm proud of.  The shots, mixed with photoshop, turned out great and I'm actually going to be ordering some large prints of them to frame and hang on my walls :)  I hope you guys enjoy them as much as I do!!

Springtime Fun!

Today we went to the park to enjoy the chilly, but sunny outdoors!  The kids had a blast, and I got to sharpen some of my photo taking skills!

Little Evelyn may have had the most fun, she found a car and of course had to 'drive' it through the sand which was wet from rain!

There she goes!!  I think she made a trail all over the entire park!!

Brian had fun too.  He got a new gas powered RC car that he got to take around the park.. and had a random boy following him around too, lol!

The kids decided to make and try to sell some sand pies.  Zak and Evelyn had a disagreement over the shape though :P

Evelyn finally got to do it HER way :)

Brooke had to join in on the fun

I think we had a pretty great family day today :)

I am finally going to just dive in with both feet and start blogging!  I want to remember these special times with my family, and share them with our friends and loved ones!  This blog is also going to be very picture heavy (yay!).  So please, put your feet up and enjoy!
